House in the Bush
I’m writing from Mumena and using solar power! It’s an amazing thing living in the bush of Africa and having modern conveniences at the same time. Since our move, a little over 2 weeks ago, I could write enough of our adventures to fill a hugh portion of cyber space. But since the solar power won’t last that long, I’ll just give you the highlights.
Moving day went as planned. We got everything out here in just a few trips. We hired a flatbed truck from town to carry the big items. We have spent the past 2 weeks unpacking boxes, hanging pictures, and much more. We have had some screens made for our windows to try and keep out the Mumena insect population during the rainy season.
The mornings in Mumena are lovely. It’s quiet, except for the call of birds. And during the hot month, the cool mornings are a welcome treat.
